Comparative Race Workshop

In conjunction with the Comparative Race Series in the Asian American Studies Program, a graduate student colloquium has been formed to help facilitate on-going intellectual engagement with the central themes, texts, and speakers featured in this year's Series. The Comparative Race Workshop (CRW) seeks to create an interdisciplinary environment in which to discuss a variety of theoretical, political, literary and pedagogical approaches to studying issues of comparative race. Throughout the year, we will provide a forum for round table discussions of graduate student papers, workshops for smaller pieces of writing such as proposals, CFPs, and abstracts, discussion groups for recent articles or other applicable texts, and an opportunity to workshop a piece of writing with the visiting speakers. There will also be forums to discuss and workshop grant proposals, pedagogical techniques and job market strategies for those working in ethnic and interdisciplinary studies.
